Kuhl Real Life Wear Test

Fall in Kelowna can’t quite make up its mind.

One day it’s crisp and cool, with mist hanging over Okanagan Lake, and the next it’s warm enough for shorts and an iced coffee on a patio.

It’s a season made for layers and for testing the kind of clothing that can handle anything the weather throws at it.

Kuhl Real Life Wear Test

Last week, we decided to spend a few days outdoors closer to home.

One day, Charles and I headed for a walk along the Mission Creek Greenway, where the fall salmon run is in full swing. The water shimmered with flashes of red as the fish fought their way upstream. The bears were out too, taking advantage of the season’s feast, so we stayed alert while enjoying the trail’s mix of forest shade and open sun.

The next day, we took the quieter route and wandered down to the local park with a warm drink, watching local seniors walk their dogs and the fall leaves drift across the grass.

Our Fall Gear Test

For these little adventures, we both wore pieces from KUHL that have quickly earned a spot in our regular rotation:

The One Hoody

This jacket has been my favorite companion for those unpredictable Kelowna fall days.

It’s soft on the inside, almost sweatshirt cozy, but surprisingly lightweight. It keeps the chill off during early morning lake walks without ever feeling heavy. The fabric sheds light rain and wind, and it looks good enough to wear from trail to café without a second thought.

It features comfortable pockets with a nice full hood that keeps the rain off my face and the cool fall air away on those days I need to draw it up.

Renegade Cargo Shorts

Charles’ Renegade Cargo Shorts have handled the full range of fall weather too.

The sturdy, slightly stretchy material makes them comfortable for long walks, and the design hits that rare balance between functional and stylish. The deep pockets are a bonus, perfect for stashing snacks or a phone on the trail.

Cozy Fall Mornings in Kelowna

As the season shifts, Kelowna feels especially alive. Salmon fight the current, bears get ready for winter, and trees light up in shades of red and gold.

Days like this remind us why we love living here and why good gear matters.

Whether it’s a lightweight jacket that keeps out the breeze or shorts that can take you from the trail to town, a few versatile pieces make it easy to enjoy every part of fall’s unpredictable charm.
